Folding Knives

Mike Mann’s hobby of making knives turned professional in 1989. His ‘Line Up’ started with fixed blade knives. In 1987 he and his wife Debbie started going to Mountain Man Rendezvous - a re-enactment of the Fur Trapper era from 1820-1840. They took the knives with them for Sale & Trade. In 1996 Mike’s ‘Line up’ included a Mountain Man style folder known as the French Trapper Pouch Knife with external spring and forged high carbon steel blade.

In 1997 he won Best Primitive Knife Award at the Professional Knifemaker Show in Denver for his Trapper Folder. That knife was featured in BLADE Magazine 1998. It could be Special Ordered in different blade lengths from 2 ½” - 4 ½”. Various handle materials included Elk Antler, Long Horn Cow or Buffalo Horn mostly although some were made with wood. The Lock Back blade option was added in 1999.

Mike (Padre) & Debbie (Coyote Woman) started going to Cowboy Action Shooting Events. The Cowboy style folders were added to Mike’s ‘Line Up’ in 2002… The Cowboy Dress Folder, Pocket & Vest Folders along with the Clasp Folder.

He continued to make folder knives until 2007. At some point between 1996 to 2007, Mike made some Revolutionary War Era Folders. They were called 'Penny Knives' because during that time, they could be purchased for a penny. Various blade styles have come and gone from Mike’s ‘Line Up’ over the years...
